Hello Sunshine!

When we purchased our house two years ago we made every decision from Arizona before we moved to Tennessee.  When the realtor called and asked what color I wanted to paint the door, I just told them to paint it the same color as the shutters-black.  What we learned very quickly is that black is not the best color for a front door in the South.  The dark color attracted a lot of extra heat and made the downstairs of our house very hot even if we had the air turned down low.  So after two years I finally decided it was time to repaint.

The house before...

I have been in love with the idea of using yellow for my front door after seeing one in my friend's neighborhood, various blogs, and pictures online. But picking the right shade of yellow with green siding was a challenge.  I didn't want to be an ad for John Deere.  So after many samples my color choice was....Olympic - Golden Slumber A14-3
I am SO in love with my sunny door, it has cooled down the inside of house tremendously and it looks absolutely wonderful next to the brick and green siding.  I love it so much that I now want to bring some of that sunshine inside the house. It looks like the forecast is calling for sunny days ahead, outside... and soon inside! :-)

After.
